Astigarraga Town Council is introducing a new measure for the txotx season: a stretch of Kale Nagusia, level with Eroski, will be closed on Saturdays from 12:00. The measure responds to complaints from local residents, who have reported difficulties getting around because of the large crowds at this time of year.

Access to the garages in Apeztegi, Amarrandegi and Foru plaza will be via Santio Zeharra street, with an alternative route allowing two-way traffic on a stretch of Kale Nagusia. The closure will be trialled during the first weeks of the season and, if the results are positive, it will stay in place until the end of the season.

Road signs and information messages will be put up to make sure drivers respect the new rules and drive safely.
