At the latest full council meeting in Astigarraga the closing of the 2023 accounts was reported. It was also announced that the cash surplus stands at five million euros.

According to the governing team, three million of the surplus will be used to carry forward appropriations linked to the 2023 budget into the 2024 budget. Specifically, it will go on works and projects already approved and under way, such as the premises for the maintenance crew, the riverside park extension project, the playgrounds, the sewerage at Sagardotegi Zeharra, the development works at Arrobitxulo and the General Plan process.
