In the thick of the new cider house season, philologist Endika Cuesta invites us on a radio tour of some of the most emblematic cider houses in Gipuzkoa. Today we take an etymological and gastronomic journey through the best-known cider houses within the ‘Euskal Sagardoak’ designation of origin.

We focus on Gipuzkoa because it is the most cider-loving territory in the Basque Country.

So we begin our tour in the Donostialdea district, with Astigarraga as our first stop to visit the Alorrenea, Zapiain, Petritegi and Bereziartua cider houses. We head over to Usurbil to visit the Saizar cider house and finish in Hernani, discovering the Iparragirre cider house.
