Boise, Idaho, USA. In Boise, only the last few tickets remain for the “Txotx Oinkari Sagardotegi”, the annual cider house party organised by the local dance group Oinkari Dantza Taldea. True to the Basque tradition of “Txotx!” (the call to fill your glass straight from the cask), this popular gathering offers an authentic Basque cider house menu in a unique atmosphere, right in the centre of Boise. This year it will be held on 18 November. And the event is so well known that some have already renamed the custom “txotxing”.

The cooking will be in the hands of chef Jesús Alcelay, well known in Boise, where he acts as ‘official Basque cook’. The menu includes salt cod omelette, cod pil-pil, txuleton (rib steak) and, for dessert, walnuts, quince paste and cheese. Alongside it, the chance to drink Bereziartua cider from Astigarraga freely from the kupela (cask). The price is 75 dollars per person, or 750 per table of 10. Remember that all proceeds go towards the costs and needs of Oinkari Dantza Taldea.

Tickets are still available, but they sell out quickly. In fact, the tables of ten have already gone, so it is best to buy them as soon as possible. Do it online here. Throughout the evening there will be auctions, raffles and other activities, with live music, dancing and a great atmosphere. This year Oinkari Dantza Taldea marks 63 years of cultivating Basque culture.
