In 2020, during the pandemic, Montse Armendariz and Joseba Rubio bought the 17th-century Perkatzenea farmhouse and, after years of work, have opened a cider house with room for 80 people.
The space combines tradition and modernity, with the wooden kupelas (casks) standing out, a considerable effort in terms of both work and cost. Their project has won followers on social media, where they share their experience.
The menu offers the cider house classics with a local twist, such as ajoarriero instead of the traditional salt cod chunks. Since the official opening, the cider house already has a number of bookings, especially at weekends, and they recommend booking in advance.
