The cider will be served in wine glasses, the omelettes will be potato ones and you’ll need to bring your own neckerchief from home. Otherwise, Sagardo Eguna will be the same great fiesta as always. The event, now in its 26th edition, takes place next Saturday in Urdanibia square, from 18.00 to 21.00.

Taupadak is once again organising Sagardo Eguna, and all the proceeds will go to the NGO’s cooperation projects in the Bolivian Amazon. Taupadak’s president, Fernando de la Hera, acknowledged the “problems” they have had to deal with this year, mainly arising “from the huge rise in the cost of organising this: the bottles, the glasses, the ingredients for the pintxos, the neckerchiefs... Doing the sums, we realised that if the day went wrong and the weather was bad, we could end up losing money”. Even so, “we have decided to go ahead”, taking some cost-cutting measures but without Sagardo Eguna losing “one iota of its essence, or the intensity of the fiesta”, Fernando de la Hera stressed.
