Txotx – the ritual of drinking cider straight from the cask – is not confined to Hernani and Astigarraga, two of the towns best known for their cider-making tradition. Every year, towns such as Urnieta also celebrate the arrival of the cider season, with events that bring together locals and visitors to welcome one of the most representative traditions of the Basque Country. This Tuesday, the town will host the second edition of its season opening, attended by engineer Ignacio Tanco, who, as an expert in the sector, will share his views and knowledge about cider on a special day.
