About Cidrerie Berri
Cidrerie Berri, formerly Txopinondo, is a craft cider house in Ascain, at the foot of La Rhune and a few minutes from Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Its owners, Maika and Sébastien, are cider makers: they press their apples and ferment them on site in oak barrels, and also make apple juice.
As well as the cider house meal (salt cod omelette, salt cod, chargrilled rib steak (txuleta) and sheep’s cheese with cherry jam, with cider and sagarno (Basque cider) included in every menu), it opens its cellar for visits, self-guided or guided, with a tasting of its apple drinks, both alcoholic and alcohol-free, and has a shop and a room for groups. It is one of the stops on the Route Gourmande des Basques.

Cidrerie Berri’s own house cider
As well as a cider house, it’s a cider maker: it makes its own cider, and what’s served at the table comes from its own cellar.
