About Sidra Mayador
Mayador is the trading name of Manuel Busto Amandi, S.A., a family firm that Manuel Busto founded in Villaviciosa in 1939 to make natural cider under the M. Busto brand. Over the years it added sparkling ciders, cider vinegar and sparkling fruit drinks, and in the 1970s it began exporting. Since 2000 it has operated from premises of about 40,000 square metres at La Rasa, right by the A-8 motorway, with pressing rooms, cellars, bottling lines and warehouses.
Its range includes M. Busto natural cider and a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) natural cider sold as Valdediós, Mayador sparkling ciders (including rosé and alcohol-free versions), apple vinegars and sparkling juices. The llagar (cider mill) is among the producers certified by the Sidra de Asturias PDO and is registered with the Principality’s Organic Farming Council (COPAE), with an organic cider and an organic vinegar under the M. Busto brand. It sells its products through its online shop.
According to Turismo Villaviciosa, the cellar welcomes visitors on Wednesdays and Fridays, with sessions at 11:00 and 12:00, for groups of up to 10 or 12 people; entry is free and includes a tasting.
