About Txindurri Iturri cider house
It sits in a charming spot in Itziar, on the Gipuzkoa coast. Surrounded by woods, mountains and meadows, it is within walking distance of the nearby cliffs. The area offers a wide and very interesting range of culture, food and scenery all year round.
Like most farmhouses in the area, this one has its own cider press. It is about a hundred years old and, although it has undergone some alterations, cider is still made here in the traditional way.
Txindurri Iturri makes a limited quantity of cider under the Euskal Sagardoa Designation of Origin (DO), all from its own apples grown in organic orchards in Itziar.

As well as a cider house, it’s a cider maker: it makes its own cider, and what’s served at the table comes from its own cellar.
Quality labels
- DO Euskal Sagardoa Designation of origin for natural Basque cider: only apples of local varieties grown in Álava, Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa and the French Basque Country. The seal goes on each bottle, not on the cider maker.
- Organic production Cider certified as organic by the body in its territory: Ekolurra, CPAEN, COPAE, CRAEGA or AB in the French Basque Country.
