What it is like

Axpe, in Markina-Xemein, shows where its cider and txakoli (Basque white wine) come from. The tour goes through the apple trees and vines, explaining the varieties and how they are grown and harvested; it continues through the press house and ends in the cellar, where you hear how the must becomes cider and txakoli. There are also videos of the harvest and production, and at the end a tasting of the house drinks with a pintxo of Idiazabal cheese.

It costs €10 per adult, with a cider and txakoli tasting, and €5 for ages 4 to 17, with a cheese tasting. Book by phone, WhatsApp or the form on the website.
