What it is like
The tour goes through the history of the Zapiain family and its cider, from the 16th century to today, following the path of the apple: the area where it is received, pressing and the must, and the fermentation hall with its large tanks, where you taste the cider txotx-style, straight from the kupelas (casks). It ends with a tasting of two bottled ciders, Zapiain Euskal Sagardoa Premium, with Designation of Origin, and Bizi-Goxo, an ice cider made from Errezil apples, with an explanation of what sets each label apart and how ice cider is made.
Tours start at 11:30 on the dates shown in the website’s calendar, and cannot be booked more than three months ahead; the cider house confirms each booking. Groups of ten or more are arranged by email. The website does not publish the price.
