About Llagar El Duque
Llagar El Duque is in Castiello de Bernueces, in the countryside of Gijón. It makes natural cider from Asturian apples only, which arrive from the orchards between October and late November: they are washed, sorted by hand on a conveyor and go straight to the mill and the press. A quick pressing keeps only the best juice, which ferments in wooden barrels at a controlled temperature for at least six months.
Besides the cider house, it has a restaurant and rooms for espichas (traditional Asturian cider feasts), company meals and family celebrations, with special menus on request. It offers guided visits to the llagar and sells its cider by the bottle, by the case and by the barrel. At the 16th SISGA (2026) it won a gold and a bronze.
