What it is like

A one-hour guided tour of the Saizar cider house in Usurbil, with a tasting of its ciders and a house appetiser, followed by lunch: salt cod omelette, fried salt cod with peppers, grilled txuleta (rib steak) and cheese with quince paste and walnuts. About three hours in all.

Meeting at the cider house, it costs €62 per adult, €55 for ages 14 to 17 and €34 for ages 4 to 13. With transport from San Sebastián (departing from Calle Bengoetxea) it rises to €83 per adult. Run in Basque, Spanish, English or French, from two people; payment is made when booking and cancellation is free up to 72 hours before.
