What it is like

Tximista, in Ordizia, offers a half-hour guided tour to see how its cider is made, with a tasting in which the cider is paired with Idiazabal cheese and a pintxo. To round it off you can stay for the cider house menu: salt cod omelette, fried salt cod with green peppers and onion, grilled txuleta (rib steak), Idiazabal cheese with local walnuts and homemade quince paste, and homemade cakes, with bread, water and txotx (cider straight from the cask).

The full package (tour, tasting, pintxo and menu) costs €52 per person, for groups of at least six. The website suggests coming on a Wednesday, market day in Ordizia.
