About Llagar Quelo
Llagar Quelo is in the El Fueyo neighbourhood of Tiñana, in the municipality of Siero. The llagar (cider mill) was founded in 1944, although by the late 19th century the family already had a cider cellar in the area, known as El Roblón. It is a llagar certified by the Sidra de Asturias PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) and is listed among the llagares of Sidraturismo Asturias.
It makes three ciders: Sidra Quelo, Sidra Quelo DOP and Solaya, a sparkling natural cider with PDO status. The cider bar (sidrería) and restaurant serves traditional Asturian cooking with local, seasonal produce and has a menu for coeliacs.
The house has function rooms for espichas (Asturian cider feasts with cider drawn straight from the barrel), weddings, first communions and other events, surrounded by an apple orchard where civil ceremonies and welcome drinks can be held.
