About Oiharte Markesaren Lurra
Markesaren Lurra (“the marquis’s land”) comes from the organic orchard Oiharte keeps next to its cellar in Zerain, on land that centuries ago belonged to the Marquis of Segura and that farmers worked in exchange for part of the harvest. It is made from txalaka, gezamiña, urtebi haundi and urtebi txikia apples.
The cider is aged on the lees of the previous harvest, and the house describes it as deeply coloured, full of flavour and full-bodied, with character. It carries the Euskal Sagardoa DO seal and, on the label, an old photo of the farm’s country folk.
