Iñigo Etxezarreta, guitarist with the band ETS, opened the Gipuzkoa txotx season this Tuesday at the Alorrenea cider house in Astigarraga. With the traditional cry of “Gure sagardo berria” (“Our new cider”), the popular musician opened the first kupela (cask) and took the first sip of the season.
Basque cider houses have their kupelas (casks) ready to start a new season that has everything it needs to be a success. Although it has not reached the record figures of 2019, the harvest has been very plentiful, and cider makers are encouraging people to come and visit their cellars, but not only at Saturday lunchtime.
