About Axpe Euskal Sagardoa

The natural cider of Axpe, in Markina-Xemein, with the Euskal Sagardoa Designation of Origin. The apples come from its two hectares of native orchard beside the farmhouse and from neighbouring farms, always of varieties catalogued by the DO and from Bizkaia orchards; they are hand-picked and the cider is made in the cellar the traditional way.

It comes in a 75 cl bottle; the shop sells it in cases of 3 and 6, with delivery included on the Spanish mainland. A natural cider for pouring at the table.

Its quality labels

  • DO Euskal Sagardoa Designation of origin for natural Basque cider: only local apples from registered orchards in Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, not pasteurised and with no added gas. The French Basque Country joins through the cross-border PDO, pending in the EU. The seal goes on each bottle, not on the cider maker.
