About Gartziategi Sidra D.O. Natural

Gartziategi’s natural cider with the Euskal Sagardoa Designation of Origin, made only from native apples. All the cider from this house in the Urumea valley, in Martutene, is bottled under the DO, so every batch passes the regulatory board’s analyses and tasting before bottling.

This is the house’s basic bottle, the one with the white label and coloured stripes. Serve it cool and poured from a little height so it opens up in the glass; it goes with a cider house meal, from salt cod to txuleta (rib steak).

Its quality labels

  • DO Euskal Sagardoa Designation of origin for natural Basque cider: only local apples from registered orchards in Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, not pasteurised and with no added gas. The French Basque Country joins through the cross-border PDO, pending in the EU. The seal goes on each bottle, not on the cider maker.
