What it is like
A day that links the cider of five centuries ago with today’s. It starts at 10:30 at Igartubeiti, in Ezkio, a farmhouse with a 16th-century cider press, now a museum that recreates rural life of the time; the guided visit ends with an apple juice tasting. At 12:30 it continues at Aburuza, in Aduna, with a guided tour of the cellar, a tasting of Basque ciders and the traditional cider house menu (or the vegetarian or vegan one).
Travelling on your own, on Saturdays, it takes about five hours and costs €53 per adult (€45 for ages 14 to 17 and €26 for ages 4 to 13). With transport and a guide from San Sebastián it runs on Fridays, from 10:30 to 16:30, for €93. It is offered in Basque, Spanish, English or French.
