About Aburuza cider house
Juan Joxe Aburuza and Arantxa Irizar set up the cider house as a business in 1978 at the Olatza farmhouse, where the Aburuza family, a line with a long cider-making tradition, already made cider the traditional way, and they chose to open it up so that the public could come and taste their product. Located in the village of Aduna and surrounded by its own apple orchards and entirely rural countryside, it produces around 300,000 litres of cider a year, which can be tasted on the premises and straight from the kupela (cask) all year round.

Aburuza makes two ciders under the Euskal Sagardoa Designation of Origin (DO), the standard one and the Premium, with apples from the orchards surrounding the farmhouse in Aduna, as well as a sparkling cider made by the ancestral method. It runs guided tours of the cellar with tastings and sells its bottles in the shop on its website.
