What it is like

The tour takes in the parts of Petritegi you cannot see from the dining room: the family’s organic apple orchard, Etxe-Buru, a small museum and the farmhouse, which dates from 1526. Along the way you taste some of the house drinks, and at the end the table is laid with the traditional cider house menu and Petritegi’s own ciders.

It costs €62 per adult with the menu; young people aged 14 to 17 pay €53.03, children aged 6 to 13 €27.75, and under-6s do not pay for the tour. There is also a version with a guide and return transport from San Sebastián (about four hours, 2 to 8 people, in Basque, Spanish, English or French), from €83 per adult. Bookings must be made more than 24 hours in advance.
