About Barkaiztegi Euskal Sagardoa Premium

Barkaiztegi’s Euskal Sagardoa Premium, the one with the gold capsule: within the designation of origin, these are the ciders that score highest on the Fraisoro tasting panel, with quality certified by the Hazi Foundation. The apples come from the family’s own orchards and are picked when ripe.

It is made in limited quantities from each harvest, so it is not available all year. The shop sells it in cases of 12 bottles.

Its quality labels

  • DO Euskal Sagardoa Designation of origin for natural Basque cider: only local apples from registered orchards in Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, not pasteurised and with no added gas. The French Basque Country joins through the cross-border PDO, pending in the EU. The seal goes on each bottle, not on the cider maker.
