About Iparragirre cider house
The walls and foundations of today’s cider house, like its old apple trees, hint at a little-known history. This is the third generation devoted to cider making. It combines the modern style of its facilities perfectly with the traditional flavour of its cider. It currently produces close to 80,000 litres of cider a year.
Iparragirre makes natural cider and Euskal Sagardoa with Designation of Origin, much of it with organic apples from its Iparragirre and Montefrío farmhouses. It runs guided tours and sells its bottles online.
From tree to bottle
Iparragirre’s own house cider
As well as a cider house, it’s a cider maker: it makes its own cider, and what’s served at the table comes from its own cellar.
Quality labels
- DO Euskal Sagardoa Designation of origin for natural Basque cider: only apples of local varieties grown in Álava, Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa and the French Basque Country. The seal goes on each bottle, not on the cider maker.
- Organic production Cider certified as organic by the body in its territory: Ekolurra, CPAEN, COPAE, CRAEGA or AB in the French Basque Country.
