About Petritegi D.O. Eko
The organic version of Petritegi’s DO cider. All the apples come from the house’s own organic orchards and are fermented with its Urtebi Haundi yeast. It carries the Euskal Sagardoa Designation of Origin seal and the ENEEK organic seal. 6 % ABV.
In those orchards pests are tackled with birds and bats (the Biobox project, with Aranzadi and the DO). In the glass it is a cloudy natural cider, with the bitterness of the native varieties; it is served cool and poured with the cap. Gold at the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council cider competition in 2024.

Its quality labels
- DO Euskal Sagardoa Designation of origin for natural Basque cider: only local apples from registered orchards in Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, not pasteurised and with no added gas. The French Basque Country joins through the cross-border PDO, pending in the EU. The seal goes on each bottle, not on the cider maker.
- Organic production Cider with the EU organic logo (the Euro-leaf), certified by the body in its territory: ENEEK-Ekolurra in the Basque Country, CPAEN in Navarre, an approved certifier in the French Basque Country (with the optional AB logo), COPAE, ODECA or CRAEGA.
